The “Expressão Nacional” show of the TV Câmara channel brought together parliamentarians and representatives of civil society to express their arguments for and against the legalization of the activity in the country. "We have to be convinced of the agenda. The college of leading leaders will have the vote in plenary and will be the final decision. The project is waiting for two years with report approved and I believe the time has come. Brazil is mature, at the right time, and needs to be able to move forward," he said.

Sanderson did not fully oppose the legalization of the activity but said he was prepared to discuss the agenda. He also suggested that PL 442/91 should be discussed again in one of the House committees and stated the risk of money laundering and of addiction in gaming.

Paulo Fernando Melo, president of the “Brazil Sem Azar” movement, defended his position against the legalization of the activity based on the fragility of the state in repressing basic issues such as dengue, corruption cases such as those shown in the lava-jet operation, among others, that makes that the country could not supervise the gaming sector.
