Telco firm Oi renews sponsorship with Grupo Globo and Go4it for eSports Brasil Award 2019

Grupo Globo has announced that it will hold a third edition of the eSports Brazil Award, scheduled for December 19th. Telecommunications firm Oi has renewed its support to the Group and the Go4it agency, both organizers of the event, and will be responsible for all of the ceremony's connectivity infrastructure, as well as confirming participation as a master sponsor.

Online voting will begin in November, where the public will also help select the winners of four new categories: Fighting Games, Battle Royale, Free Fire and Best Caster. In the 2019 edition, the eSports Brazil Award will also honor institutions for their social initiatives that work for inclusion through games and eSports. Leandro Valentim (Globo Group Sport), Fernanda Lobão (Go4It), Bruno Cremona (Oi) and Globoesporte.com reporter Chandy Teixeira were present during the official announcement.

“There are multiple projects and investments of Grupo Globo directed to the growth of the eSports universe in Brazil. We are developing a range of interrelated initiatives that add value to the game community. And the eSports Brazil Award is where we celebrate the best, with the presence and appreciation of the biggest idols in the industry,” says Leandro Valentim, head of Grupo Globo's New Business Business.

In the 2018 edition, the eSports Brazil Award surpassed one million votes to elect the best athletes and personalities of the year in different categories. The expectation of 2019 is to exceed this number. “The eSports Brazil Award represents the biggest celebration of the year for the industry, athletes and fans. And it starts long before the awards night,” says Fernanda Lobão, Partner and CMO of Go4it.
