Netbet expands partnership, becomes master sponsor of Fortaleza women's teams

NetBet and Fortaleza EC have expanded their sponsorship partnership that began in 2019. The sports bookmaker will now support the tricolor women's football team in state professional and U-20 competitions as the master sponsor until the end of the season. This is the second sponsorship of national sports besides men's football announced by the firm that struck a deal with Cearense Basketball last week.

Games Magazine Brasil talked to Fortaleza E.C Marketing Director Victor Simpson, who told how the possibility of having NetBet also in the women's football club came up. “This is another project that NetBet is joining us with. Throughout the year they participated in various marketing activities and sponsorships secondary to the main one, which is professional football. And as we know that the company likes to invest beyond the male team, so we made this proposal for them, who received very well, liked the visibility that we may have and immediately accepted,” says the manager.

With the new deal NetBet will display its brand on the center of the tricolor girls' uniform and also on two field signs at the Castelão Arena, advertising that already existed in the first sponsorship. Other activations with draw to fans, as is already done with the male team, are not yet ruled out, as it all depends on the participation of the fans during the games.

“This is the first time Fortaleza has been playing in a women's football championship in recent years. So, we need to understand what the cheerleading reception will look like. If there is a good average audience, for example, we can certainly use some actions that we know have already worked,” explains Simpson.

Fortaleza’s women team will compete in the state championships in the professional and under-20 categories. And with the sport rising after the French World Cup in June, NetBet's support is considered of great importance within the club.

“The importance is gigantic. It's a modality that still needs a lot of investment, a look with a little more media appeal, because we know that activity is on the rise after the Women's World Cup, but we hope that the attention that was given during this competition does not stop there. We want the national and regional championships to be a little more prominent now and having a company like NetBet in them is of great value,” concludes the manager.

Nowadays, NetBet has invested in national sport far beyond men's football. Prior to this new partnership with Fortaleza, the company had already signed an agreement with Cearense Basketball, which disputes the NBB - New Basketball Brazil. In football, the bookmaker sponsors, besides Fortaleza itself, Vasco and CSA, all in the first division of the Brazilian Championship.
