Still on the creation of jobs for Araxá, the Belo Horizonte press recently announced that the legalization of all gaming modalities in Brazil has been on the National Congress priority list and can be voted until September this year. This legalization will allow the implementation of casinos in several Brazilian cities.
In Minas Gerais, nine cities may have casinos, according to the bill currently analyzed in Brasilia, being one of them Araxá.
The project ensures that cities with hydromineral resorts that have previously hosted casinos can have gaming venues. The city had the casinos of the Grande Hotel do Barreiro and the Araxá Casino.
Tauá Group, the current administrator of Grande Hotel, is already studying partnerships with foreign companies to set up the casino if gaming is legalized in the country.
The implementation of casinos in nine cities of Minas Gerais, including the capital Belo Horizonte, is expected to represent a tax collection of R$ 2 billion (US$ 510m) for Minas Gerais and to generate 18,000 new jobs in the state.
