“I have now been appointed rapporteur for the creation of casinos. Tomorrow (for today) I will be in Rio de Janeiro meeting with people interested in casino investment. We are also talking to President Maia to guide the casino bill in the national congress,” said the deputy, in an interview with Radio Cultura de Foz do Iguaçu.
“As rapporteur for the casino commission, I was also appointed vice-chairman of the gaming commission. And we have in consideration the option to regulate the gaming activity as a whole along with the casinos. And there is a trend, in which President Maia is included, that considers we should only work the casinos at this time. That's why this meeting in Rio”, explains Vermelho.
The deputy admitted that among the legislators there are differences in criteria on which option to legalize now: “Then we will have a very big clash because there is also a pressure to regulate all gaming modalities and there is another pressure on President Maia to regulate only casinos. As we are on both committees, we will try to make the business useful. The important thing is to approve.”
“These are claims we have to face one by one but not fading away. Always enthusiastic and excited to see things happening. Because everyone has their interest, all states, all municipalities and regions. And we are the ones that must defend our city and our region and our state. And we're doing it bravely,” added Vermelho.
“Let us start generating these R$ 45 billion casinos and employment revenue so we can meet government needs. We are losing revenue and people are going to casinos in other countries, bringing wealth and job creation and taxes to other countries when that could happen in our city and our country,” concludes Vermelho.
