New bill introduced to regulate online gambling and casinos in Brazil’s state of Paraíba

State Representative Moacir Rodrigues (PSL) has proposed a bill that will be considered in the Legislative Assembly of Paraíba (ALPB) in the coming days. According to the deputy, the bill aims to regulate all types of online games and casinos in the state. Rodrigues explained that states and municipalities in general are failing to raise money due to the lack of regulation of these activities.

"It is a simple project that regulates online gambling and casinos in the state of Paraíba. It is worth remembering that casinos in Brazil were banned in 1946. I find no reason why there are no casinos in Brazil in the present time. In the case of online gambling, it is already a reality," noted the deputy.

He explained that states and municipalities in general are failing to raise money due to the lack of regulation of these activities.

The project is expected to be presented at the Legislative House later this week.
