CBF organizes today seminar on sports betting and lotteries with presence of Alexandre Manoel

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), with an eye on the regulation of sports betting, organizes today from 1:00 pm to 5:pm in Sao Paulo, within the Brasil Futebol Expo agenda, the seminar 'Sports Lottery and Football: Regulation and Sponsorship Opportunities'. The lectures will be given by Alexandre Manoel, SECAP secretary of the Ministry of Economy; Ludovico Calvi, president of the Global Lotery Monitoring System (GLMS); and Magnho José, president of the Brazilian Institute of Legal Gambling (IJL).

The seminar “Sports Lottery and Football: Regulation and Sponsorship Opportunities”, takes place today and lasts four hours, from 1:00 pm to 5:pm. The lecture is part of the program of Brasil Futebol Expo, organized by the CBF where some of the biggest references of national and international football will share knowledge in their respective areas.

Since December 2018 a new law has made it legal throughout the national territory the activity of fixed odds sports betting, defined at the time of betting, how much will be win in the event of a hit. The intention is to grab a slice of the market that already moves in Brazil about US$ 975 million per year, according to a study by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). The major players in this segment invest millions of euros in European clubs.

The seminar helps to understand how this change will impact the sports scene and especially the Brazilian football business scenario; besides how this market works, its restrictions and which companies already operate in it.
