Genius Sports extends data deal with Euroleague Basketball

Group’s Betgenius division gains official rights to continue distributing real-time Euroleague Basketball data to its global network of licensed sportsbooks. The extended deal launches Euroleague’s new rights enforcement strategy, removing unauthorised data collectors within their stadiums. “The new deal demonstrates our commitment to ensuring security of supply to our customers,” said Genius Sports Group’s CCO, Jack Davison.

Euroleague Basketball has granted Genius Sports Group, a leader in sports data technology, the official rights to capture and distribute its live data to the global betting industry.

The data will be captured using the Group’s cutting-edge courtside technology and instantaneously distributed as a live feed to licensed sportsbook operators all over the world via its sports betting arm, Betgenius. Genius Sports Group’s data collection system is used across more than 85,000 basketball games a year in over 150 countries.

The extended partnership has launched Euroleague’s new rights enforcement strategy, removing unauthorised data collectors found to be operating within their stadiums. Genius Sports Group has worked alongside Euroleague since 2014, safeguarding the league’s integrity from match-fixing through advanced bet monitoring and analysis.

Jack Davison, Chief Commercial Officer of Genius Sports Group, said: “The extension of our partnership with one of the world’s leading basketball leagues demonstrates our commitment to ensuring security of supply, of the most important content, to our customers. Our investment in the growth of live basketball betting is dependent on the capture and distribution of fast, accurate and highly reliable data.”

“Furthermore, Euroleague will enjoy a fair return from betting on their competitions while sportsbook operators and their customers will gain a crucial advantage through the quality of their products,” Davison added.
