Witoldo Hendrich Júnior, Online IPS founding partner

“ICE will help our authorities to see the gaming business size and Brazil’s potential”

Online IPS and Clarion have a long partnership in gaming events that will win a new chapter at ICE 2020. The Brazilian payment methods firm will be the sponsor of LATAM DRINKS, the happy hour that takes place on February 4th. Founding partner Witoldo Hendrich Júnior talks about the expectations for the event, the participations of the firm in the fair and the key role of the strong presence of Brazilians in the conferences for the legalization process in the country.

GMB - How did the invitation to sponsor the official happy hour of ICE London come about? What are you preparing for that day and what are your expectations?
Witoldo Hendrich Júnior -
Online IPS and Clarion are a long-term partners. We’ve been sponsoring events in São Paulo and Miami for years. Last year, we sponsored a Happy Hour during ICE. So, this invite is nothing but the follow on of past marketing campaigns we did before in partnership with Clarion. Our expectation doing happy hours is Always the same: Gathering friends and making personal and professional relationships stronger.

In addition to the happy hour, will Online IPS and you personally have any other participation in the event, such as a stand or lectures? Do you expect a fair of good business?
We will not have stand. We have scheduled lots of meetings inside and outside the Excel London. Besides that, on Feb 6th, I will moderate a panel oriented to the Brazilian market. I’m gonna moderate experts like Thomas, Alberoni and Alfieri. The expectations for this high-level panel is extract from them the maximum. They have a lot to say, indeed.

Many parallel events to the fair with Brazil as a central topic and with the participation of many important names of the country’s gaming sector have been announced by Clarion. What is your opinion about this Brazilian presence at the fair and what practical results for the legalization of the activity can bring?
The Brazilian presence is getting bigger but I still think it is smaller than it should be. As soon as we have it regulated in the country, Brazilian expert will take over events all over the world. These pros will represent a 200 million Market. This intense work tends to increase the pressure over authorities responsible for regulation also increasing the chance of a sooner and well-crafted legislation.

Do you believe that ICE will be the first chance of 2020 in which Brazil can show that it is ready to be a good option for investment in gaming based on the regulation of sports betting?
It is already proved, I think. There is no foreign company aware about the Brazilian status. We need to show it internally. This is the challenge. ICE will help this process, because we have Brazilian authorities at this event. They need to see with their own eyes the size of the business and the domestic potential.

Finally, let me remind you that our happy hour, labeled as LATAM DRINKS taking place at the Platinum Suite, Level 2, accessed via the main boulevard by Halls N2/S2. See you there, on Tuesday 4th, from 5:30PM to 7PM.
