Dimayor introduced Betplay as a new sponsor of Colombian football

The Colombian Football Major Division (Dimayor) and bookmaker BetPlay made the official launch of their sponsorship agreement for the next four years. All local men's competitions will be named after the betting brand: BetPlay Dimayor League, BetPlay Dimayor Cup, BetPlay Dimayor Tournament and BetPlay Dimayor Super League -it does not include its 2019 edition that will be played mid-year-.

Last week the agreement between the Major Division of Colombian Soccer and BetPlay was made official. The betting brand will be the new sponsor of the competitions organized by Dimayor in the men's branch for the next four years. The Women's League is not included in the deal.

"We are committed to one of the sports that excites Colombians the most and we are proud that the Colombian professional football men's competitions bear our name. It is also a challenge that we will meet with full transparency," said Germán Segura, general manager of BetPlay in an event in Bogota.

Ramón Jesurún, president of the Colombian Football Federation, said: "We are proud that the next Dimayor tournament is called the League, Tournament or BetPlay Cup," he said. Also in the event was present the former goalkeeper and member of the Colombian national team Farid Mondragón.

 


Jorge Enrique Vélez, president of Dimayor, said: "For the 36 clubs associated with Dimayor and for the administration, it is of total happiness that an important company like this sponsors our national football. The investment by BetPlay to acquiring these rights was very high and that shows how they value our product, which makes us very pleased."

"We, as protagonists of the show, have to respond to the the new sponsor’s expectation. Dimayor and the clubs will continue working to give the greatest joy to the fans that have followed since 2020 the BetPlay League, BetPlay Tournament, BetPlay Cup and BetPlay Super League", he added.

The new logo that will identify the four competencies was also presented at the event. According to Dimayor, "the image brings together the corporate colors of the new sponsor, with a sober concept, which reflects the tradition of football and the common feeling that the FPC and BetPlay awaken".
