Hard Rock expands business in Brazil, converts the Prety Arena into a Hard Rock Live

The legendary lifestyle and entertainment brand announces plans for the largest indoor show arena in Brazil, in addition to a possible casino-resort project. With installations in 76 countries around the world, Hard Rock International continues its expansion in the country this year, reformulating the already existing Petry Arena in Hard Rock Live Florianópolis, with opening scheduled for mid-2020. The official announcement of the partnership will be made this Friday (31st) with the presence of authorities and musical shows.

Working in collaboration with the Arena Petry Group, the brand is reshaping the existing Arena Petry into a Hard Rock Live, bringing its world-renowned entertainment to the region. After the completion of the project, the brand plans to supply even more Hard Rock energy to Greater Florianópolis with a 300-room hotel and a possible casino project, in case changes are made to the rules of the gaming sector in Brazil.

"We are excited to introduce our standard of entertainment to Florianópolis," says Todd Hricko, senior vice president, head of global development at Hard Rock International. “It was exciting and rewarding to work with the Arena Petry Group to transform the Arena, ensuring that it embraces the Hard Rock vibe, at a time when Santa Catarina welcomes the brand.”

After changes at the Petry Arena, the brand new Hard Rock Live Florianópolis will be the largest indoor arena in Brazil for entertainment, with a capacity to accommodate 17,000 participants. The venue was designed to have the ability to simultaneously host up to 10 social events and a complete show activation. Hard Rock will follow the leadership of Petry Arena, as the venue will continue to attract regional and international artists and will continue to be the largest multi-event complex in the South region of Brazil.

The Florianópolis project will consist of two additional phases after the development of Hard Rock Live. Phase II is a 300-room hotel. Subsequently, there will be the development of a casino, which depends on the possible approval of gaming regulations in Brazil. The project was designed to create more than 2,000 local jobs for the construction and development of Hard Rock Live and the hotel, as well as additional opportunities after the completion of each phase.

"We are excited to be able to partner with Hard Rock to start a new moment in the Arena Petry project," said Sandro Petry, president of the Arena Petry Group. "We are confident that the brand's passion for music and entertainment will be the perfect match for a lively and renewed Arena."

Located in the heart of Santa Catarina, close to the Serra and the most beautiful beaches, Hard Rock Live Florianópolis and its next phases will become the perfect refuge for residents and travelers. Through musical appreciation and an imaginative environment, Hard Rock Hotéis & Casinos offers products for different aspects of life - work, fun and personal.
