Lawyer Jaques Reolon launches book “Casinos, Gambling and Lotteries - Liberation in Brazil”

This month, expert Jaques Reolon, President of the National Association of Lawyers in the Brazilian Courts of Accounts and VP of the office Jacoby Fernandes & Reolon, will release on Amazon platform his new book “Casinos, Gambling and Lotteries - Liberation in Brazil”. The 110-page work reviews bills, casino modeling, gambling, enforcement, taxation, business opportunities, and state lotteries.

The book price is R$ 29,00 (US$ 7) on e-book version and R$ 46,00 (US$ 11) physical.

The numbers related to gaming activities in the world are impressive. In Brazil alone, the estimated tax collection is close to R$ 20 billion (US$ 5b) per year. It is expected that only casinos will be able to create more than 20,000 jobs and, including all gaming modes, close to 700,000 jobs.

“This book was written clearly and in the form of questions and answers for the reader to decide what he wants to read. We tried to translate the technical terms to facilitate the understanding of professionals and entrepreneurs from different areas; after all, I may want to insert myself or invest in a different area from the current one. It interests private investors, professionals, public sector agents and many others,” said Reolon.

The book includes answers to the following topics:

House and Senate bill analysis

  • Comments on the judicial release of gambling
  • Game modalities
  • How will businesses be exploited
  • Modeling for Casino Exploration
  • Inspection, sanctions, financial control and taxation
  • Games already legalized in Brazil
  • State lottery business models

Major international players have already made economic and financial feasibility analyzes in some states in Brazil. Santa Catarina, Bahia, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Northeastern and Northern states of the country are certainly important in this scenario. In the Federal District, there has already been analysis of an ideal place for casino exploration.

Reolon is a lawyer, economist, consultant, lecturer, Lecturer, Master in Public Administration, specialist in Administrative Law, member of the Third Sector Law Committees and Advocacy in the Bar Association Control Bodies in Brazil. He is the author of books and articles related to public management, with solid experience in bidding and contract analysis. He has held various positions in the Courts of Auditors, such as counselor advisor, chief advisor in the Public Prosecution Service and executive secretary of the Public Prosecution Service, among others.

“Here you can know very briefly, without losing understanding, what will be the exploitation of gaming in the country, the state's participation in this new market, the areas of business most affected, as companies and professionals need to be prepared. And the book has a special chapter on tips for exploring state lotteries. Attention governors: be sure to collect and create jobs!” explains the expert.

There are several companies in the world awaiting the release of the activity in Brazil, especially the major casino players. There are no specialized Brazilian professionals to work in this area, if the casinos that require differentiated services of a manufacturing, commercial or logistics plant, for example, are installed.

Initially, the need for professionals, from executives to the most common service providers, may be met by granting a foreign work visa in the country, but it is a unique opportunity for differentiated and well-paid employability. “Brazilian companies must also prepare for the huge demand for specialized professional services expected. And they are many and varied,” concludes the lawyer.
