ICE London 2020: “Should Brazil adopt the Japanese model of integrated casinos?"

Within the framework of the prestigious ICE VOX conference cycle during ICE London 2020, international specialists will discuss the current legal processes for the installation of integrated casino casinos (IR) in emerging markets. Among other issues, it will be analyzed whether the model adopted by Brazil should be like that of Japan that recently legalized the activity. The summit will also feature a round table on Brazil with the participation of lawyer Luiz Felipe Maia.

ICE VOX is the conference event taking place under the traditional and must-attend ICE London show hosted by Clarion Gaming. Within an extensive program of lectures, debates and roundtables on the most diverse international issues of interest to the gaming industry, Brazil will also have space in the next edition.

On the first day of ICE VOX (Monday, February 3) at the “International Casino Conference” from 2:40 pm to 3:20 pm, the panel “Emerging Market Update: Observing the Political Process and the Horizon for IR Operators Worldwide the world ”, includes among the analysis of different markets the topic “government / industry relations, should Brazil adopt the Japanese model?"

Brendan Bussman (Partner and Director of Government Affairs with Global Market Advisors - GMA), Ayako Nakayama (Director, Japan IR Association) and Andrew Tottenham (Founder, Tottenham & Co) will be the speakers at the debate.

Some of the topics to discuss are:

• Debunking the political timeline, what does this mean for operators?

• Demonstrating the potential economic impact, what are the numbers?

• Government/industry relations, should Brazil adopt the Japan consortium based model?

• Japan update, where are we with bill implementation and licences?

Already on the second day of the event, from 2:40 pm to 3:20 pm, a series of roundtables from Latin America including Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru are announced. Lawyer Luiz Felipe Maia (founding partner, FYMSA Advogados) will be the representative of Brazil who will advise foreign companies on the local market situation.
