New bank transfer method

Pix can also make life easier for gamblers in Brazil

Pix is an instant payment service created by Brazil’s Central Bank and allows, from November 16, financial transactions to be carried out in a few seconds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. In this article, Leonardo Baptista, CEO of Pay4Fun, and Paulo Gerber, CEO of GamersCard, give their opinion on how the gaming market can benefit from this advantage for users. In the Lottery Network for the time being there is little information defining whether the new system will be positive.

As of November 16, all bank transfers will be simpler and the money will be placed in an immediate account. With the Central Bank's new instant payment system, account holders will be able to send money to another person or company regardless of which institution they have an account with, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and compensation will be on time. Transactions will be free and will take place in seconds.

Pix is an instant payment service created by the Central Bank and allows financial transactions to be carried out in a few seconds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Payments can be made for purchases and also transfers of money between accounts.

Anyone who has a bank or savings account with banks or fintechs can choose the keys that will contain bank codes. The user can register his CPF, email, cell phone or a random code. From there, just inform this key to anyone who will be making a transfer to his/her account and the credit is made in a few seconds after the transaction is done. In commercial purchases, payment by Pix will be made using QR Code or link.

For the gaming sector, the implementation of the new method does not have a substantial impact, as the sites maintain partnerships with payment methods companies as they are not yet established in Brazil. In addition, in general betting sites already have digital integration with payment methods and they are within the system itself.

Leonardo Baptista, Pay4Fun CEO, comments that Pix is already fully integrated into the system and fully functional. “Users will be able to use Pix just as they currently carry out their operations through bank transfer by TED, boleto etc. This makes it much easier for the user, who will have a QR Code on the screen to carry out their financial operation. The new transfer system comes to make the customer's life easier,” he says.

Another company that evaluates Pix as an advance is GamersCard, which at the beginning of next year will already adopt the keys to serve its customers. “Pix is super important, we understand and support all the movement that the Central Bank is doing, as it speeds up payments of bills between people and companies, the flow of money,” says Paulo Gerber, CEO of the company.

Baptista, from Pay4Fun, remembers that transactions will be immediate and 24 hours a day, which will guarantee a lot of agility to the operation and satisfaction of customers and partners. "Today, some banks sometimes take more than 30 minutes to confirm a transfer, which bothers the customer, who often needs it quickly," he says.

Gerber comments that the new transfer method “is very welcome and we at GamersCard will definitely participate. We are just not in this first phase, because we are getting ready and soon we will offer our customers the possibility of making payments with Pix,” he says.

Currently with more than 110 thousand users, Pay4Fun believes that it will continue to grow, as bookmakers are not yet physically operating in Brazil and due to the fact that many customers prefer to have only one transfer operation to bet on different sites.

“We are an integrated electronic wallet with more than 100 different websites, working for both deposit and withdrawal. Users who are accustomed to our tools will find it even easier to make their contributions on each of the sites where they play through us, as well as receive for their victories,” explains Baptista. According to him, Pay4Fun's transactions for bookmakers do not change. "It won't be Pix, as we already have our own integration with the bookmaker's platform with us."

In the Lottery Network for now there is a lot of speculation and little information defining whether the new system will be positive, negative, if it will not change anything in the operations and, mainly, if there will be any change in the collection of the lottery retailer.

The information appears in the latest edition of Jornal do Sincoesp (Union of the Lottery Houses). According to the Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (Febralot), industry leaders should meet with Caixa Econômica Federal to address the issue.
