Nevada gaming year-on-year revenue down 22% in August

Nevada casinos won US$743 million in August, a decline of 22% over the same month of 2019 but an improvement percentage wise from June and July, according to numbers released by the state’s Gaming Control Board this week. The Las Vegas Strip continued to take a hit by falling 39.1%, the same percentage decline as July.

Nevada’s casinos won US$756.7 million in July, a 26.1% decrease from the US$1.02 billion won in July 2019. That was a gain over June when the casino reopened June 4th. The state’s casinos won US$566.8 million in June, a 45.5% decrease over the same month of 2019.

The Las Vegas Strip continued to take a hit by falling 39.1%, the same percentage decline as July. Downtown was down 21.5%. It fell 20.6% in July.

The balance of Clark County, which includes many local casinos increased 1.6% from US$102.9 million in August 2019 to US$104.6 million in August 2020.

Statewide table and counter game revenue fell 35.8% in August, while slot revenue fell 14.8%.

Racebook win was US$2.7 million but fell 13% over August 2019. Sportsbook win was US$14.5 million, a decline of 10.7% over August 2019 when there were preseason NFL games.
