“I had dreams early in my career about achieving goals. Especially within the modality that has always had a lot of difficulty in terms of visibility and structure. So, I wanted to sign a contract with large companies. But I wondered if it would ever happen. I lived so much in the sport, in the national team, and even with previous achievements of Olympic medals and personal records, I didn't see it happen and I was upset,” said Cris to the report.
"I traveled abroad and see what happened to athletes in their countries and thought 'damn it, why can't we have this in Brazil?' I went to get things done in my career at the age of 35, after the World Cup. I'm very happy that Betmotion looked at me for the athlete that I am, the titles that I have, but in personal, communication terms, being a reference for the athletes. I'm proud and happy for this achievement,” she added.
The one-year contract with the striker guarantees the license to use the athlete's image on existing or future Betmotion products, as well as content on her Instagram. The company also closed a sponsorship agreement for the A1 Brazilian Women's Championship. The arrangement is valid for games broadcast by the largest live football streaming platform in the world, MyCujoo.
For the striker, the current moment in women's football is of great value, the result of achievements obtained by players who are now more experienced or even retired from the sport.
“I play with the girls that today they eat steak. We gnaw the bone. My previous generation, had actually nothing. Now they have visibility over the modality, the shirt clubs, if practically everyone has women’s teams. I saw how this has improved,” celebrated Cristiane.
“We want to bring Betmotion closer to women's football. We have a barn of stars and, at the end, we have Cristiane, the greatest gunner of the Olympics of all time. She defines well what we are looking for in sponsorship, determination, and audacity,” assured Angelo Alberoni, Country Manager Brasil of the bookmaker.
At 35, with more than 20 dedicated to football, with Pan-American titles, Copa America, Libertadores, Champions League, as well as five World Championships and four Olympics in her luggage, the striker still does not think about retirement, even though she is in a club that has a lot of affection like Santos.
In addition to the current ticket, the player had defended Sereias da Vila in 2009 and returned the following year, after a brief stint at the Chicago Red Stars, in the United States, remaining until 2011.
