Telco giant Oi sponsors eSports Brasil Award for the 3rd year in a row

Oi, largest fixed telephone operator and the fourth mobile phone company in Brazil, will sponsor the 4th edition of eSports Brasil Award, the biggest of its kind in the electronic sports sector in LatAm. The event, that takes place on December 8 at Globo's headquarters in São Paulo, is the result of a partnership between Globo and Go4it, with digital support from VIU Hub. Fans can follow live streams on multiple screens and platforms.

According to general head of the eSports Brasil Award by Go4it, Thiago Milhazes, Oi is a business partner that believes in the strength of electronic games and understands the importance of supporting projects that engage the gamer community as the award.

“The Award is turning four and reaches a young and highly engaged audience in an impactful way, being an accurate communication platform for brands. It is the main moment of praise for the electronic sports industry, and it starts long before the award night. We have the ability to organically engage the biggest players and influencers in this segment,” he comments.

The award will feature, for the fourth consecutive time, with the artistic direction of Raoni Carneiro, a professional with experience leading events such as Criança Esperança, Show da Virada and the 2019 tour of the duo Sandy & Junior.

“We are in the fourth edition of the award, which recognizes the biggest highlights of eSports in the year. Even with the difficulties imposed by the context and care that the pandemic imposes on us, we will have a beautiful night of celebration for the industry and for this passionate, and growing, gamer community,” says Leandro Valentim, head of eSports and Games at Globo.

Oi's communication and media director, Lívia Marquez, explains that the brand is following the growth of the games sector and eSports market in the country, which is why the company is betting increasingly on strategies developed especially for this audience, which, in 2018, already totaled more than 75.7 million Brazilian players, according to data from the consultancy NewZoo.

In addition to presenting the eSports Brasil 2020 Award, the brand will name the category of Best Streamer, won in 2019 by Free Fire streamer Lúcio “Cerol”.

“We have consolidated our presence with the gamer audience in recent years, an environment of experiences that has a lot to do with our brand and our business. Whether they are professional players or amateurs, they look for an internet that meets their expectations when they are online. With Oi Fibra we offer a high performance, speed, and stability service to gamers. And once again we are at the largest and most relevant eSports event on the continent,” says Lívia.

In the 2019 edition, the eSports Brasil Award surpassed 10 million votes to choose the best athletes and personalities of the year in 20 categories. The number of votes for the Brazilian award exceeded the Esports Awards, an event of global recognition for the industry, which registered 3.4 million votes.

Fans will be able to follow the award through live streams on multiple screens and platforms. SporTV displays live on TV and SporTV Play, with simultaneous actions on e-SporTV channels on YouTube and Twitch.
