The highest authority of LaLiga estimated at 90 million euros the impact that the decree prepared by the Government will have for the clubs and that will limit the advertising of the bookmakers.
"If those who are still ruling, and it seems that they do, a Royal Decree is planned and the impact will be 90 million euros," he pointed out in a conference at the Cardenal Herrera CEU University in which he admitted that "it is a wild issue that had to be regulated, not forbid."
Tebas pointed out that "there is enough demagoguery" and that the total ban will lead to "inconsistencies", because advertising will be seen in international events such as the Tour de France or the Formula 1 Grand Prix that are not in Spain.
In addition, he pointed out that they seek "a transition period" of two years for the new regulations, although he believes that the contracts that the clubs are signing already include exit clauses for this possible regulation.
The president of the LFP also said that he is concerned about “tax increases” and that Spain is “the country that treats athletes the worst”, which makes LaLiga less competitive. "We are an industry that generates 180,000 jobs," concluded Tebas to highlight the importance of the sector in the general economy of Spain.
