ISTOÉ highlights favorable position for gaming legalization of Senator Angelo Coronel

Leading Brazilian magazine ISTOÉ highlighted this week the favorable positioning for the legalization of the gaming sector of Senator Angelo Coronel to contribute to job creation and direct the taxes collected to social assistance programs. Coronel himself showed the interview on his social networks. “Especially at a time of crisis, Brazil cannot give up this new source of jobs and resources. Let's go together in this fight!”, he said.

ISTOÉ - Why have you been defending the legalization of casinos in Brazil?
Sen. Angelo Coronel - This project will raise R$ 50 billion in taxes and will include millions of Brazilians in the government's social assistance programs.

How would it be?
It is that this extra tax collection will enable the government to create the Renda Cidadã (Citizen Income). To maintain this aid program, the government needs R$ 20 billion and has nowhere to get the resources from. Casino money could support this new project.

But this project is very controversial, isn't it?
Not so much. Today, Caixa already manages numerous games, such as the Mega Sena. Casinos can generate up to 700,000 new jobs in the tourism sector. And that is what Brazil needs.

In his social networks, Coronel made more statements: “Apart from the games that Caixa manages, like the Mega-Sena, all the others are in hiding and do not generate any tax and no formal employment. Especially at a time of crisis, Brazil cannot give up this new source of jobs and resources. Let's go together in this fight!”
