Oddspedia launches data comparison widgets to monetize traffic in Brazil

The comparison widget offers the best odds at over 70 bookmakers to help users maximize their profits. Oddspedia explained that two types of widget can be adapted to cover more than 30 sports and hundreds of leagues in five different languages. “One of the great things we did was to make Oddspedia available in the official language of Brazil, Portuguese”, explained the company's founder, Jan Möller.

Oddspedia has expanded its product range through Oddspedia Widgets to help website publishers monetize traffic through live score data and bookmaker odds comparison.

The international affiliate of iGaming explained that two types of widget can be adapted to cover more than 30 sports and hundreds of leagues in five different languages. Target markets in Latin America include Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, and also Spain.

The odds comparison widget, as the name suggests, offers the best odds at over 70 bookmakers to help users maximize their betting profits. The match center widget, in turn, is a great engagement tool to match pages and comment sections dedicated to sharing the excitement of a match.

Referring to the focus on Latin America and, more specifically, on the Brazilian market, the founder of Oddspedia, Jan Möller, commented: “One of the great things we did was to make Oddspedia available in the official language of Brazil, Portuguese”.

“We offer 100% coverage for all sports, leagues and games that interest Brazilians. We have had great success in the European markets, where players personalities are similar to those in Brazil. It's no secret that the most popular sport here is football, but other popular sports include MMA, horse racing, tennis, basketball and volleyball. Again, an image similar to this one in Europe, isn't it?” added Möller.

Deals with publishers are based on 50/50 revenue. The way the division works is that the widgets run with two links, one for the editor and one for Oddspedia. Depending on the rotation, anyone who clicks on the widget, registers and plays with a bookmaker will become a first depositor (FTD) affiliated with the publisher or Oddspedia.

Prior to this revenue sharing, all feeds and data are integrated for free on the website in a process that Möller said was "as easy as copying and pasting an embedded code". Both widgets can be configured to perfectly match the design of the website through a choice of colors, data types and priority sports for display.

Widgets are fully responsive to all devices, screen resolutions and browsers, while geographic targeting is also available to provide more personalized content for specific users in each country.

Möller also explained how publishers can effectively “build their own odds comparison service” using the Oddspedia widget and data API, which are based on JSON / XML feeds.

He closed by suggesting a new version of the main odds comparison site and new features, including a "odds reduction" widget as part of an exciting development pipeline.
