The president of the Conajzar, José Antonio Ortiz, said that the period for the acquisition of the basic specifications and conditions has already closed, and that the tender is currently in the consultation and response stage. Subsequently, the offers of interested firms will be presented.
"Once the offer is presented, it remains in the administrative field, enters a review stage and, then, passes for the evaluation and subsequent award criteria," he said.
According to Ortiz's estimates, the award of the new concessionaire would be finalized in approximately three months.
For Conajzar, the marketing of the quiniela should continue to be carried out through portable or post terminals, in the same way as the current awarded firm (TDP SA) has been doing. However, Conajzar said they are open to receiving the most beneficial proposal for the firm concerned and the regulator, in terms of economic and logistics.
“We want that the proposals that the concessionaires can propose within a bidding process are also beneficial in the economic and logistic aspect and, logically, from the point of view of the regulator and collector. We are interested in working well in order to guarantee the fees received. I think that, whatever the one awarded, it should have to continue with that same mechanic,” said the president of Conajzar.
The company's experience as a gaming operator will be taken into account when selecting the new company in charge of the quiniela business. According to Ortiz, this point is included in the tender. The companies that bought the basic specifications and bidding conditions are firms already known in the field of gambling.
