Brazil’s General Attorney receives anti-gambling parliamentarians, does not promise any help

Augusto Aras, the Attorney General of the Republic of Brazil received met this week with parliamentarians that are against the legislative proposals to legalize gambling in the country. During the meeting, Aras stressed that, at the moment, the issue is political and not legal, and that any action by the Federal Public Ministry in this regard will only be possible if the proposal, after being approved by Parliament, presents some unconstitutionality.

Senators Eduardo Girão (Pode / CE) and Styvenson Valentim (Pode / RN) and federal deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante (DEM / RJ) participated in the meeting.

Parliamentarians have informed the Attorney General that they will launch a Parliamentary Front against the Legalization of Gambling.
