Brazil’s gaming regulation was protagonist of the EGR Power LatAm Summit 2020

The first day of the EGR Power LatAm Summit 2020, a highly exclusive two-day learning and networking event for leading experts from the Latin American gaming market, was held yesterday (26) at the Faenal Hotel in Buenos Aires. The regulation of the gambling sector in Brazil was one of the central and most interesting topics, with the presence of prominent representatives of the Brazilian market. The protagonists themselves shared images of the first day of the event on their social networks.

As is happening in different conferences and international events of the gaming industry, the current situation of the Brazilian market and its perspectives in the short term are the issues that generate more interest among the attendees. In this case, the first day of the EGR Power LatAm Summit 2020 that took place yesterday (26) at the Faenal Hotel in Buenos Aires was no exception.

 

 

An important delegation of renowned and experienced Brazilian businessmen participated in different sessions and round tables. After the event, the protagonists themselves shared in their social networks some images of their participation in the different panels of the day, revealing the positive reception they had in this new edition of the EGR Power LatAm Summit.

 

 

Shortly after noon, Witoldo Hendrich Júnior -founding partner of Online IPS and Hendrich Advogados- participated in the “Legal framework comparisons: Insights across LatAm markets” panel, where with Carlos Fonseca Sarmiento -CEO of Gaming Law- analyzed the major issues, challenges and opportunities across a range of countries with active interests in egaming. The session was moderated by Tomas Enrique Garcia Botta, partner at Masot & Frettes Abogados.

 

 

Then it was the turn of the panel “Brazil focus: What can we expect for 2020 onwards?”, where Luiz Felipe Maia - founding partner, FYMSA Advogados- and Thomas Carvalhaes, LeoVegas' group country manager for Brazil and Latin America- and Lorena Puentes -COO-Vera&John Latam at Gamesys- discussed the anticipated regulatory regime for sports betting, the potential impacts of proposed tax rates, the future predictions for the Brazilian gaming market, why companies are interested in this market, and the best approaches to CRM and untapped opportunities. The moderator was Fabio Tiberia, consultant at thorbet365 and loungebet.

 

 

After lunch, Alessandro Valente -igaming specialist in Latam & co-founder of Super Affiliates participated in the “Localized targeting: Tailored marketing and creating more bespoke offerings for increased engagement” panel with Juan Pablo Cordoba -founder of IGamingLatam.com- and Ramiro Atucha -former COO of Leander Games-. Moderated by José Miguel Chueca -director of JMC Gaming Consultants- the session focused on how to best understand what different players want and how to translate that through a product.

 

 

Closing the participation of the Brazilian delegation on the first day of the EGR Power LatAm Summit 2020, André Gelfi -managing partner of Suaposta- was in charge of the “Brazil roundtable: Starting on the right foot and potential opportunities up for grabs.”
