There has been much talk about the benefits that could be generated to the economy of Japan in general and its different regions in particular with the installation of IR with casinos since these establishments were approved a couple of years ago.
This time, the one that commented about this topic is Nagasaki Governor’s, Hodo Nakamura. He told his prefectural assembly last week that the establishment of an IR with casino at Huis Ten Bosch could result in the creation of 28,000-36,000 new jobs in the local economy.
Nakamura’s new figures are based on the various proposals that the prefectural has received from IR operators and private investors.
Investment amounts now expected to come in between US$3.2 billion and US$4.3 billion, and annual visitation between 6.9 million and 9.3 million people.
“It is expected that the opportunity for young people to settle in the local area will expand, and that those young people who have moved out of the prefecture to go to school or find employment elsewhere will be able to return to their hometown,” Nakamura commented.
