Boyacá Chicó tied this Sunday 2-2 with Alianza Petrolera, in the match of the eighth round of the I-2020 League. A tie was not what Boyacá Chicó expected, due to its situation in the relegation chart. Eduardo Pimentel, the team's top shareholder, exploded because of the referee errors that, according to him, hurt the team.
"This is NOT cleaned by anyone, it became a universal business, every 8 days you see referee outbursts and nobody cares, we all eat the same shit. Today, the results in football are decided by bets, not the teams," said Pimentel, who also offered US$ 15,000 to whom report alleged betting networks in football.
Following these words, Evert Montero Cárdenas, President of Fecoljuegos, issued a statement to defend the cleanliness of the processes and refute Pimentel’ settlement:
Given the accusations by Mr. Eduardo Pimentel, owner of Boyacá Chicó, about a possible match fixing in the game of the eighth round of La Liga Betplay: Boyacá Chicó - Alianza Petrolera. The Colombian Federation of Luck and Random Game Entrepreneurs (Fecoljuegos) informs that the seventeen (17) internet gambling platforms authorized in the country have performed the respective analyzes in their monitoring systems with the risk area, without finding any news or detect any unusual bet for this sporting event. Reason why, we call on public opinion and especially Mr. Pimentel to refrain from establishing without any support any relationship between the bookmakers and possible affectations that have occurred in the sporting event, since these statements undermine the good name and reputation of the gaming industry, especially the online gaming mode. This type of fraudulent behavior directly affects the bookmakers, since it is the operators who must bear the economic costs of these practices. Fecoljuegos in representation of the businessmen has manifested in different opportunities the commitment of the sector with the integrity in the sport, the operators of online bets are allies of the sport and ensure that there is transparency and security in the close relationship that exists between these two industries, from there, that has worked in an articulated manner with the Major Division of Colombian Football through the Cooperation Agreement for the fight against the manipulation of sports competitions, with the purpose of detecting any risk of match fixing and work in the prevention of actions like these that undermine the online operation and healthy sports competition.Source: GMB
