An operation by the Federal Police (PF) on Thursday (27) resulted in the seizure of six slot machines in a lounge at the Sambadrome on Avenida Marquês of Sapucaí. According to the PF, in the space there were other equipment that simulated a casino, such as roulette and card table.
“On the place, the agents found, in addition to the machines, equipment and tables that supposedly indicate that the environment was being used for clandestine gaming. The action took place on the basis of an anonymous complaint and the investigations will be carried out by the Superintendence’s Treasury Police Station,” informed the PF in a note.
“We hired a company called Casino Experience, which is from São Paulo, and does recreational casino activities, without involving money, which is permitted by Brazilian law. This was the theme of our lounge this year. We have 18 dealers and our customers played during the parades. I sent a letter a month ago to the superintendent of the Federal Police, explaining the joke,” said Alexis.
The businessman considered that he was denounced "by some envious". According to him, who is dedicated to holding corporate events, the legalization of gambling may be good for the country, an issue that is being discussed in Congress. It is the tenth year that he has operated corporate lounges in Sapucaí. The PF advisory informed that the slot machines will be inspected, to know if they are imported and if they entered the country legally.
