Estoril Sol Digital was again recognized as a Great Place to Work in Portugal

Estoril Sol Digital, which is part of the largest group of casinos in Portugal, will join the ranking of ‘Great Place to Work’ for the second consecutive year. The company was ranked 8th in the less than 100 employees category. “This prize is yours, it's ours! Congratulations!”, the company happily comments on social networks. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the usual ceremony transitions this year to social networks.


ESD operates in the business area of ​​online gambling, both casino and sports betting offering several casino games (slot machines, French roulette and blackjack) and in the sports betting market (football, basketball, MMA, snooker, etc.). It is the 2nd time that it is recognized as a Best Workplaces in Portugal.

Every year, Great Place to Work produces a ranking of the best places to work in Portugal. The Top 25 was known this Thursday, with companies from various sectors of activity.

The 2020 list is headed by the only hotel company on the list, with Hilton Conrad Algarve and DoubleTree by Hilton Lisboa. The second position is held by Groupe SEB, a retail company. Completing the top 3 is Cisco Portugal technology.

The pharmaceutical company Mundipharma occupies the 11th place and the information technology consultant Mind Source repeats its presence on the list, in the 12th place. This is followed by the technological company Tridonic Portugal, in 13th place, and Estoril Sol Digital, dedicated to technological development, lotteries and other betting games, in 14th position. DHL Express Portugal and the pharmaceutical company Perrigo share 15th place.

Among hotels, technology companies, retail or pharmaceutical companies, the list wants to show which organizations offer the best working environment in Portugal. The strongest presence by sectors concerns the area of ​​information technologies: in 25 places, at least nine belong to the this sector.

Great Place to Work assesses work environments in about six dozen countries around the world, diving into various sectors: from trade to health, through industry, financial services and, of course, information technology.

The selected companies are separated in four categories depending on the size of the work groups: less than 100 employees, between 101 and 500, between 501 and a thousand, and more than a thousand employees.

The lists are based on two tools. At stake are the trust index (relating to the perceptions of the employees themselves) and the culture index (relating to company practices, policies and rules).
