Eight Brazilian clubs seek to create new league keeping with transfers from sports betting

Columnist Lauro Jardim, from O Globo, recently revealed that eight Brazilian football clubs would be working to create a new League, which would be independent from Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). According to the “Blog do Paulinho”, the reason for the move would be to form a kind of central for receiving the transfers of sports betting sites (2% on the profit) that will soon come into force in Brazil, kicking the CBF of the share.

The journalist asserts that Flamengo, Palmeiras and Vasco would be against the idea. According to the publication, in Brazil there is an Independent League, the National Football League of Brazil (LNFB), chaired by lawyer Gislaine Nunes, which could, due to the bureaucratic ease, be used to move forward with the initiative.

“However, as far as we know, the interests of the clubs have nothing to do with sportsmanship. The reason for the move would be to create a kind of central for receiving transfers from sports betting sites (2% on the profit) that will soon come into force in Brazil, kicking the CBF of the share,” informs Paulo Cezar de Andrade Prado, journalist responsible for the entire content of “Blog do Paulinho”.

Other than that, few would have the courage to beat the CBF, which holds the monopoly, only faced by the LNFB, of the main national football tournaments.
