Betfair shoot video in Sao Paulo to promote partnership with CONMEBOL Libertadores

Before the coronavirus pandemic that affects the entire world, Betfair, one of the top online international sports betting operators, chose the city of São Paulo to shoot a series of TV and digital videos based on its CONMEBOL Libertadores sponsorship. The company had local support from Ogilvy Brasil and 02 Films for the “Any result is possible” campaign.

Since last August, with brand displaying on the pitch advertising boards of the match between Grêmio and Palmeiras in Porto Alegre, Betfair has set foot in South American football as an official sponsor of Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana for the next 4 years.

For the promotional campaign of the 2020 edition of CONMEBOL Libertadores, Betfair hired Brazilian companies Ogilvy Brasil and 02 Films to work on the videos in Sao Paulo, under the supervision of Jess Wilson, Senior Brand Marketing Executive of the company.

The team used the entire city of São Paulo on an intense day of work to film the shoots of the “Any result is possible” campaign. On its Youtube channel, Betfair uploaded one of the videos that reflects that, despite adversity, everything is possible in the context of the most important football club tournament on the continent.

The campaign is obviously more extensive but the pandemic originated by the coronavirus forced the suspension of the tournaments, that is why the launch of the rest of the videos will have to wait a little longer. For regulatory reasons, advertisements show Betfair.net, a website that is not for betting, but that seeks to expand the brand on the continent.

“Winning the championship after 38 years, thanks to a goal two minutes into extra time, is almost impossible. But you always bet that, one day, it would happen. Although it's just as unlikely, after 4 consecutive eliminations, to turn the tables and qualify,” say the ad that shows iconic moments of this tournament that fans will never forget.

Betfair is considered one of the three largest online sports betting operators in the world. Thanks to the use of the latest technological advances, the company processes more than five million operations per day, carried out by its more than four million registered users worldwide. In addition to sports betting, Betfair offers a portfolio of innovative products like casino and poker.

In Spain, Betfair hired former Brazilian football star Rivaldo as an ambassador of the brand, who writes a weekly opinion column on various topics.
