Member of the new collegiate, deputy Luiz Lima (PSL-RJ) stressed that society is changing rapidly, and that Congress needs to be in line with these changes.
“Today, electronic sport is practiced by millions of young people in Brazil - it is estimated that, in the world, the number reaches one billion people. The games involve physical and mental preparation and team competition,” he highlighted. “It is, therefore, an agenda that needs to be present in Parliament.”
President of the parliamentary front, Deputy Colonel Chrisostomo (PSL-RO) also praised the importance of this market. “Our group comes to encourage industry, education, health and sport. It comes to be a collaborator of all these vectors for games and electronic games,” he said.
Chrisostomo added that eSports already have a national confederation and may even become an Olympic sport in the future. As president of the front, the deputy intends to promote the improvement of federal legislation and regulation of activities in the sector. The front has the support of 201 deputies.
The event in the Nereu Ramos auditorium, in the Chamber of Deputies in Brasília, was attended by relevant names in Brazil and abroad, among others:

• Co-founder of YUP.GG and advisor to the Global Esports Federation (GEF), Nicholas Aaron
On the occasion, topics such as restrictions and educational and social inclusion initiatives were discussed; as well as raising awareness about smart strategies for enjoying new technologies.
