Auction raises price, said “Máquina do Esporte”

Brasileirao's rights for betting market jumped from US$15.6M to US$17.2M

Although clubs stated that they were not primarily concerned with the values for choosing agencies for the sale of international rights and streaming betting of Brazilian football championship, an auction was held among competitors last Friday (17), which generated almost US$ 2 million more in the sale of rights to the betting market. The winning consortium formed by Zeus Sports Marketing and Stats Perform rose from US$15.6 to US$17.2 million the minimum guaranteed in its offer.

The proposal was US$200,000 higher than the one made by Brazilian TV NSports, and US$300,000 lower than that of the French sports marketing agency Lagardère, which was eventually passed over by the clubs in the final choice.

As it was not a competition with closed envelopes, as it usually happens to avoid this type of practice, the clubs inflated the final proposal and ended up opting for the one that did not have the greatest guaranteed value, according to the exclusive information of Erich betting, CEO of “Máquina of Sport.”

In the coming days, the clubs will meet with the winners to discuss the details of the deal. The agencies will detail the entire action plan and what are the estimated sources of variable revenue. Only if this proposal is validated the contract will be signed.

Officially, Brazilian sports organizations say that only the first phase of the selection process has been completed, avoiding mentioning that there is already a definitive choice for the sale of rights until 2023.

With both contracts, clubs must receive US$27.2 million. Of this amount, 75% will be divided equally between Serie A clubs, 20% will go to Serie B teams and another 5% will go to Serie C clubs.
