Vasco invests on eSports, announces entry into the Free Fire scene

Brazilian football club Vasco da Gama will hold a Free Fire tournament for members and direct dependents on May 2nd as a first step in the world of eSports. The competition will give the winning team coaching with 'a famous team from the scene.' In addition, the traditional Rio’s team plans to extend its presence in the competitive gaming sector and be one of the protagonists of the modality.

Another traditional football club from Brazil entered the competitive Free Fire scene. Vasco da Gama announced the news on Tuesday, in a live broadcast by club officials. Afonso Tresdê, New Business Manager, explained how Garena's Battle Royale works and recalled the game's great success among young people.

The club will also hold a Free Fire tournament, aimed at members and direct dependents. The winning team will receive a coaching process with "a famous team from the scene", according to the manager. Vasco's intention is to expand its performance in eSports and be a protagonist in the competitive, according to the words of Tresdê himself. The next games have not yet been revealed.

Vasco also informed about this news through social networks. On instagram @vasco.esports, the club invited members to participate in the May tournament with the text: “Vamo que vamo, partner of Vascão!!” The post had more than 2600 likes and more than 1000 comments.

The next edition of the Brazilian Free Fire League will have three major Brazilian football clubs among the 18 teams of Serie A: Corinthians (current world champion of the game), Santos and Cruzeiro.
