Nevada sportsbooks get OK to take wagers on eNASCAR

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) announced last Friday that sportsbooks can add the 2020 eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series to their product offerings, starting with last weekend’s race that took place on virtual Bristol Motor Speedway. The betting houses can now offer wagering on the winner of each race and on matchups between drivers.

During times when all major sports competitions around the world have been suspended due to the virus mitigation measures implementation, sportsbooks have little to none to offer to its customers. Maybe that is the reason behind the recent move by the NGCB, as so far the regulator has been reluctant to approve sports wagering on digitized sports events.

“The global interest in the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series has ranged far and wide and we continue to recognize the role this series is playing in providing sports fans worldwide with a much needed respite during the most challenging of times,” commented Scott Warfield, Managing Director of Gaming at NASCAR.

Approval is granted for all licensed books to post and accept wagers on the winner, as well as matchups between drivers, of the 2020 eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, subject to the following conditions: Prior to the acceptance of a wager, official rules must be posted on the event organizer or sanctioning body’s website.

Additionally, Nevada licensees must notify all patrons that eNASCAR iRacing driving simulators and equipment (to include peripherals and technology components) may differ slightly. If a driver starts a race and a winner is declared, all wagers stand.

Licensed sportsbooks electing to offer these wagers must provide the Enforcement Division with notification of terms. The setting of odds is at the discretion of the operator; rules governing these wagers shall be made available to the public. Acceptance of wagers must cease prior to the start of their respective race. The results shall be based on a permissible source. All audit procedures detailed in Industry Letter 2011-48 must be adhered to.

Any additional wagers which deviate from the winner, as well as matchups between drivers, of the 2020 eNASCAR iRacing Pro InvitationalSeries for this event will require a separate application and approval.
