Argentine province of Santa Fe allows the reopening of casinos and bingos

Through decree 487 published this Monday night, the provincial government enabled in Santa Fe the opening of shopping malls, casinos, bingos, libraries, museums, and religious celebrations. To do so, they must first present a protocol that guarantees distancing and health security to minimize the risk of contagion in the midst of the pandemic. The main casino in the province is the City Center of Rosario, just 300 kilometers from Buenos Aires.

In the coming days the details of the new excepted activities will be known. The measure is part of the new stage of "social, preventive and compulsory distancing" into which the province entered due to its good health development.

"The National decree cancels the social isolation, preventive and compulsory, to pass a phase of social distancing, preventive and obligatory. Said decree establishes the conditions and obligations that we must fulfill within this new stage. These provisions will apply throughout the province of Santa Fe, except for the town of Villa Ocampo,” stated the Minister of Public Management, Rubén Michlig.

"The decree establishes some parameters that must be met in order to sustain ourselves within this stage of distancing: the health system must have in this case sufficient capacity to respond to demand; we should not have cases of community transmission; and the doubling time of confirmed cases must always be less than 15 days.”

"The rules to be respected are the following: establish limits regarding circulation, in the sense that you cannot transit beyond the department where each one resides. The two meters of distance on the road must also be considered at all times, and the protocols and recommendations established by both the national and provincial governments must be complied with in all activities,” concluded Michlig.

The province of Santa Fe has three casinos. The main one, due to its infrastructure, services, and gaming offer, is the City Center, located in the city of Rosario. The other two are in the capital city, Santa Fe, and in Melincué.
