The Order of Lawyers of Brazil, Sectional of Paraíba (OAB-PB), comes, through its Special Sports Law Commission, to show its concern with news in the sports media about possible indications of betting fraud carried out on a specialized website involving the games of the Sport Lagoa Seca team x CSP and Sport Lagoa Seca team x São Paulo Crystal.
After the complaints, the bets were canceled by the responsible website. The OAB-PB charges the competent authorities with a rigorous investigation of the alleged fraud.
The Law starts to intervene in high-performance sport precisely to guarantee parity of arms between competitors, the maintenance of competitiveness and, above all, the uncertainty of the result, seeking tools to curb any type of conduct that may vitiate the result and taint the competition, as with the attempt to manipulate results.
The OAB-PB Sports Law Commission also wants to express its support to the work done by the Paraibana Football Federation (FPF) in an attempt to regain the prestige and credibility of Paraiba football, so affected by recent incidents and to be available of the entity so that together we seek to foster and further develop local football.
Finally, the Commission wishes luck to the teams of Campinense Clube and Treze Futebol Clube in the dispute for the 2020 Paraibano Championship Final and that both provide two great shows worthy of the height and tradition of this major local classic.
