JCRGS celebrates 113 years, starts broadcasting races through Betsson Group

The Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul (JCRGS) is opening new markets through a partnership with Betsson Group. Its iconic Festival Protetora do Turfe, the entity's anniversary, which celebrates 113 years, takes place today (11), at the Hipódromo do Cristal in Porto Alegre. It is an opportunity where bets will be accessible not only for Brazilian turf fans, at Betsson.com.br, but also internationally through the digital platform RaceBets in different brands of the Swedish group Betsson in Europe.

The entity celebrates this week (7), another year of existence. However, as is happening with hundreds of Clubs and millions of people across the country, this commemorative date will be celebrated without guests, but only in a 'track' event with 12 races, among them 04 in the Classical sphere, the most iconic of which is the PROTECTIVE OF THE TURF GP (L) which lends its name to the 'festival' of the day.

JCRGS had started especially in celebration of its anniversary, the broadcast, on an experimental basis, of its races abroad through the RaceBets platform and in Brazil by betsson.com.br, with the hope of obtaining new resources that will allow the entity to offer more races.

“Note the huge step towards the future that this represents, as we have already carried out periodic races and there will be no increase in expenses, but only the search for new revenue in betting, which also puts on the Board's 'radar' the debate about a possible grass track,” says JCRGS officials.

"In this special moment, we would like to express our gratitude to our partners at the Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul, who believed in our vision and supported us so that this project could happen in record time," expressed André Gelfi, founder of Suaposta and now Partner Director of Betsson in Brazil.

For José Vecchio Filho, president of the Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul, it is an honor to be part of Betsson's growth. “We are proud to be part of this successful journey. It is essential for the Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul to have a global partner that supports our traditional club and regional horse racing. We are very confident that together we are well positioned to become leaders in Brazil,” he said.

Betsson belongs to the Swedish Betsson AB, one of the largest betting groups in the world, which has been providing entertainment for over 50 years. With Brazil, the company adds yet another market to its scalable platform, where the operator's proprietary technology offers customers unprecedented features across the board, enhancing the betting experience.

Betsson is the first and only licensed operator in the Brazilian sports betting market in turf, in partnership with the Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul. Through Betsson.com.br, it offers digital and mobile entertainment, with a focus on experience and user security.
