Games Magazine Brasil to participate in OAB/ES webinar “The Law of Gaming”

The Espírito Santo Higher School of Advocacy will hold the cycle of webinar “The Law of Gaming”, with the objective of presenting to lawyers and other legal professionals the importance of regulating the activity. There will be two meetings, one on September 25th and another on October 9th, both at 4:00pm on the Zoom platform. GMB expert journalist Gildo Mazza will talk about what the gaming industry can expect from Brazil, at the first webinar.

Luiz Henrique Alochio, specialist in municipal law and federal advisor to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), is the coordinator of the debate cycle and intends to better explore the legal aspects of the gaming activity so that the law community is in tune with the current situation in the sector. “We need to analyze the bills on the issue of banning gaming in Brazil and understand the basic concepts of bills being processed in the National Congress”, he says.

For him, it is important to discuss the topic especially at a time when Brazil is looking for alternatives for the resumption of the economy in the post-pandemic. “The regulation of gaming will be fundamental in the recovery of Brazilian cities in the post-COVID period. And even if there was no pandemic, it is time for Brazil to discuss and pass legislation for the sector,” he says.

On September 25, the event will be opened by Alexandre Zamprogno, president director of the Superior School of Law ESA / ES, and will have a presentation by Luiz Alochio, who will speak about the law of the gaming; by Ana Luiza Ralil, general defender of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) of Football, which will address the current sponsorship of professional and Olympic sport and what to expect with the regulation of the gaming market. The first day of the event closes with the participation of the journalist Gildo Mazza, from GMB, who will talk about what the gaming industry can expect from Brazil.

On October 9, three more topics complete the cycle. Daniela Campos Libório, federal counselor of OAB-SP and president of the Urban Law Commission of the Federal Council of OAB, will discuss urban planning and the insertion of new economic activities. Maria Luiza Kurban Jobim, legal advisor at TJRS, will talk about gaming's development and the regulatory outlook from the problematic case of bingos in Brazil. The second day closes with Raphael Coelho, lawyer and consultant, who will bring his experience on the basic concepts of gaming law in the United States.
