According to information from journalist Leandro Mazzini, responsible for the content published in his column, “Lotex gives headaches to the Esplanada bureaucracy.”
Mazzini ensures that the Estrela Instantânea consortium has already informed Minister Guedes that he it has requested another 15 days for internal formalities.
Caixa and the Government have held since July 17 the formalization of the distribution contract in LOTEX's lottery network by the bank.
According to projections, it is estimated that LOTEX will yield more than R$25 billion (US$4.6bn) to the federal coffers during the concession.
Recently, Folha de S.Paulo newspaper said that lottery retailers are waiting for Caixa to take a stand on the future of LOTEX, the instant lottery, which the government sold about a year ago. The media revealed that the Febralot president sent a letter to the bank asking for a definitive position.
It is worth remembering that during the third webinar of the “Agora Brasil” cycle, conducted by GMB, Roberto Quattrini, Country Manager at IGT and representative of the Estrela Instantânea Consortium with Scientific Games, stated that the crisis generated by COVID-19 delayed the launch plans from LOTEX, however revealed that the idea is to have the product on the market between November this year and January 2021.
"We have very aggressive plans and LOTEX will be the largest gambling network in Brazil," promised Quattrini last July.
