On its website, Londrina explains how to bet on Timemania, a specific lottery for football teams to settle their debts with the federal government. According to Prochet, since 2016 the club obtained its certificates through the revenues from the sport. "Londrina is already well ahead of this, since 2016 the club has already obtained all its certificates through resources from Timemania," he said.
Timemania's money is 100% of the club, with its use to pay tax and labor debts, as the president argues. “This money is 100% of Londrina, it is exclusively for payment of tax and labor debts, but Londrina has already paid off a large part. That is, of the whole money that comes in today there is a part that is committed to paying debts, and the rest goes to the club's cashier,” said Prochet.
In addition to obtaining the certificates through Timemania, a good part of the installments of the executions that the club had was paid with the amount of the lottery revenue. “Since we started all installments, it was paid with Timemania's money. So, all we managed to pay off from the more than 800 executions that Londrina had in recent years, was money from Timemania,” explained the president.
Since Timemania was launched, Londrina is among the 30 clubs with the most bets in Brazil. In order to triple its revenues from the federal lottery, LEC needs to be among the first 20 clubs in the total accumulated by Timemania until December 31, 2020. This would guarantee it, in 2021, that the resources would be three times more than it is now. "This gives an income of around R$ 60/80 thousand (US$11k / US$17k) per month, depends on the numbers of bets," detailed Prochet.
Prochet also commented that all these executions come from the 1960s and with the amount received by Timemania it was possible to pay off a large part of these debts. “Since 1960, we had some pending issues, almost all of this has been paid, there is only an installment in progress that is around R$16 thousand (US$2,900), where Londrina pays strictly through PROFUT system and in the future with the payment of debts, the money remains free. So, the more the club revenue grows, the more free money it will have to improve its structure and future projects,” concluded Prochet.
