In a conversation with GMB, the president of SINDGASSP listed several benefits that the legalization of gaming can bring to Brazil, among them the power to give decent jobs to Brazilians “who now work in clandestine houses”, and the activation of the country's economy.
“In 2010, my ex-boss bought a bingo-casino in Bolivia (Santa Cruz de La Sierra). I worked in this bingo for 7 months, my contract ended, and I returned to Brazil. It was a great experience for me, and I realized that many Brazilians were going to play at the Bingos there, staying days in hotels in the city. Couldn't this money have stayed here? Of course, it could!”, says Nunes.
The post published on the union's social network warns that SINDGASSP will put pressure on politicians and authorities to do so. Some of the ways to achieve this goal happen when sending letters and playing on social networks the need to reopen this industry, drawing the public's attention to this theme. “How many trillions have we been missing since 2007? It would be possible to direct resources from these gaming houses to sports and more,” states the president.
Nunes has been keeping an eye on the Bills that appear in the Chamber and statements from government officials about the activities that come out in the media, however he has his reservations regarding some of them. “Gaming can't just be at resorts, let only to foreigners. It should be for everyone, otherwise the Brazilians will leave here to play in other countries. There is no logic,” he reveals.
“Casinos should be located in resorts and hotels on the most famous beaches, such as Guarujá, Leblon, Florianópolis, Recife, Fortaleza, etc. As an entity, we are the first to raise this flag for the reopening of bingos and casinos in Brazil, as we are in favor of work, employment, and development in our country. I say that, the deputies, the senators and the government itself are only looking at the navel itself, when it can look, because they have full bellies,” concludes Nunes.
