“Will this be controversial? you can bet on it...” is the title of the conference about betting and integrity. Football’s relationship with betting is uneasy. Some view it as providing vast amounts of sponsorship to teams looking to balance their books and adding tension for the spectators who have something riding on it, others view it as the source of match fixing and preying on the vulnerable. “How can football best co-exist with one of humanities oldest pastimes?” will be one of the questions that the experts will try to answer.
Trengrouse is Member of the Legal Studies Commission of the National Sports Council and of the Business Development of Sports Council of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro. He is a professor of Sports Law at FGV and Academic Coordinator of the FGV / FIFA / CIES Course in Management, Marketing and Sports Law. The Trengrouse, Gonçalves Advogados office has established cooperation with FIFA Master Alumni.
