Atlético Mineiro close to sign master sponsorship with bookmaker Betano for US$ 1.5m

European betting firm Betano would pay Atlético Mineiro R$10 million (US$1.53m) for the master sponsorship. In addition to the money, the club would benefit from betting of team’s fans on the platform. Betano will take the place of BMG bank in the noblest part of the white jersey, while Auto Truck goes to the lower front bar, totaling R$ 30 million (US$4.6m) in sponsorships in the jersey. Nokia and Amazon are under negotiation.

Atlético-MG is close to having a new master sponsor for the 2021 season. The Greek betting company Betano wants to stamp its brand in the main space of the Mina Gerais’ club.

The figures have not been confirmed, but there is information that it would be R$ 10 million (US$1.53m) per year. However, this amount may be higher, as payment will be made in euros.

With the arrival of the new company, the brands that print the white jersey will be relocated on the uniform. BMG's bank logo will be moved to the back instead of the one of Auto Truck, which will also change places on the jersey, going to the lower front bar and also being replicated on the shorts.

 

 

Betano has been operating with online betting in Greece since 2013 and has expanded its business to seven countries and has 700 employees and 300,000 registered users on the site.

In 2019, the company entered the sport to gain more visibility. It started by investing in the GT4 South European Series, for touring cars, which takes place in France, Spain and Portugal.

Then it entered football, putting his brand on Braga and Marítimo, both from Portugal's first division.

Betano has another brand, "Stoiximan", which sponsored PAOK, OFI Crete and Olympiacos, all from Greece, Apollon Limassol, from Cyprus and FC Craiova University, from Romania.
