A new time

Brazilian Jockey Club invests to take a leap in quality of turf in the country

After a series of negotiations with international partners, the Jockey Club Brasileiro (JCB) will start implementing several measures and investments that will provide a leap in quality of horse races promoted at the Gávea Racecourse. Among the news announced by the JCB are the number of races and bets, withdrawals, the introduction of partial time measurements made through RF technology and, satellite broadcast. Part of the measures will be implemented from the meeting next Sunday, 17, at the Gávea Racecourse.

Among the measures being adopted by the JCB, one of the most iconic representatives of turf in Brazil, the following stand out:

Bets:

– Sunday meetings will always consist of 12 races;

– The first eight races of each of these meetings will have the usual modalities:

Winner, Double, Exact, Trifeta, Quadrifetas (Normal and Guaranteed), Super Tri Initial (1st and 2nd), Super Tri Final (7th and 8th), Pick 7 (opening in 2nd race) and Super Betting 4 (starting in 5th race ).

 – Pick7 and Super Betting 4 will continue with their due guarantees and eventual bonuses;

– At the end of the eight initial races of the program, the MGA of the eight careers and the the apportionment of the special accumulated (Pick7 and Super Betting 4) will be published;

– The last four races (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th) will have bets on the AMERICAN MODEL – first on the Maryland Jockey Club System (Laurel Park) and later on the Gulfstream Park System.

The following modalities will be adopted:

Win (Winner);

Place (Placê); Show (rewarding up to 3rd place in each event);

Exact;

Trifecta;

Superfecta (Quadrifeta);

Daily Double (The winner of two races in sequence must be hit - 9th over 10th; 10th over 11th, or 11th over 12th, with rates according to the volume played and displayed on the screens bets).

– After the dispute of the last four races, the MGA of the four races and the total sum of the day will be published (including the amount wagered in the first eight races of Rio’s Racecourse).

– ATTENTION – Bets that “mix” the two models will not be allowed. Example: a Super Tri Initial will have to be closed, IMPERATIVELY, until the 8th race, and races with bets in the AMERICAN MODEL cannot be included in the special accumulated combinations.

Withdrawals:

With the possibility of betting on the American circuit - which moves an average of 30, 40 thousand dollars per race, the JCB will give a unique opportunity to the tourist, to be able to count on better ratios due to the amount played.

For this, the withdrawals will obey the practice of the AMERICAN MODEL:

Win, Place and Show - 18% Withdrawal

Exact - 21% Withdrawal

Trifecta and Superfecta - Withdrawal of 25.75%

Daily Double - 21% Withdrawal

*These values will be applied ONLY in the last four races of the meeting.

Race times:

The Secretariat of the Jockey Club Brasileiro Racing Commission will continue releasing on Tuesday, at 12:00 pm, the program with mounts and the scheduled times for the Sunday races.

Eventual changes in these schedules may happen, since the American programs are only released 48 hours before the scheduled race.

Thus, on Friday, when the definitive times are informed, the updates will be posted on the JCB website (jcb.com.br) and on the Betting website (apostas.jcb.com.br).

Partial time measurements:

On Friday, October 1st, President Raul Lima Neto signed a term of commitment with the American company Trakus, for electronic tracking and measurement of race partials.

Trakus equips some of the largest racecourses in the world, such as: Del Mar, Keeneland, Saratoga, Belmont Park, Gulfstream Park, Deauville (France), Singapore Turf Club (Singapore), Meydan (Dubai), Brisbane (Australia) and the only one (until December) from South America, the Club Hípico, in Chile.

Scheduled for December 2021, all races at the Gávea Racecourse will have the partials of time on the course measured and released in real time during the broadcast of races, as is usually the case in international races.

For this, the three tracks - sand, variant and long straight and grass - will be fully mapped, the animal blankets will carry a radio frequency transmitter (RTK), which will send the signal to a GPS antenna, located in the awning of the tribune, which will send to a satellite that captures the position of the animals on the track and forwards it directly to the JCB computers, which will make available on the broadcast screen the graphic interface with the position of each animal and the appropriate distance partials.

The history of each of the matches will be completely different from then on, with this data giving much more input to the players, adding important and essential information in the lines of retrospect.

“A new time is coming,” announces the Jockey Club Brasileiro. “The meeting held on October 17, 2021 at the Gávea Racecourse will be the first step in a new era for Brazilian horse racing.”
