CBF Academy enters eSports universe with management course in the area

The CBF Academy, educational arm of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), has open enrollment for the first class of the “eSports Management” course, aimed at people interested in acting as managers and delving into electronic sports modalities. The course starts today (18). The proposal is to offer knowledge and enable participants to play roles in the gaming industry, currently responsible for moving more than US$ 1 billion, according to data from Global eSports Market Report. This number is expected to grow and reach US$ 1.6 billion by 2024.

It is a very promising industry around the world and in Brazil. In the universe of national football, teams like Corinthians, Flamengo, Santos, Cruzeiro and Vasco, among others, already have teams in the main eSports modalities and there is still a lot to grow. CBF Academy is at the forefront of offering a long-term course for those who want to work in this market. We bring together the best experts in the subject in a complete course, with a total of 80 hours,” explained Marcelo Fadul, assistant coordinator of the CBF Academy course.

The course is online, but the curriculum includes visits to clubs and companies that are already active in the market as complementary activities. According to the CBF Academy, professionals with any higher education can apply.

Among the teachers are Caco Antunes (head of eSports at Riot Games Brasil); Guilherme Vieira (product manager at Netshoes Miners); Pedro Oliveira (founding partner of Outfield Consulting and Outfield Capital); Bruno Pilon (sponsorship coordinator at Golden Goal); Bernardo Mendes (game director of the Druid team); Djary Veigas (CEO of GoGaming); Leonardo Máximo (CCO of e-Flix and founding partner of Movment); Luiz Pacete (content head of MMA Latam); and Ana Xisdê (host and creator of gamer content.

We studied this teaching market for almost a year. Our goal was to make sure that the ‘eSports Management’ course offered the most current and qualified for the CBF Academy student. Classes will all be available within the CBF Academy platform, and visits will be extra activities. In this way, students from all over Brazil will be able to take the course, even if they are prevented from making the technical visits in person,” completed Marcelo Fadul.
