To serve the most vulnerable

Casa de Apostas promotes campaign in favor of ‘Christmas Without Hunger’ with Bahia

Football and solidarity will go hand in hand in yet another ‘Natal Sem Fome 2021’ (Christmas Without Hunger) campaign, which will have the support of bookmaker Casa de Apostas. Ação da Cidadania, a non-governmental organization (NGO) that fights hunger throughout Brazil, is launching the action with the goal of sensitizing the population to contribute to those who are in a situation of social vulnerability. As a kickoff, the NGO's campaign will be stamped on the jersey of Bahia, one of the clubs sponsored by Casa de Apostas.

In this way, each dollar donated will be equivalent to a plate of food. In addition to the fundraising campaign, the betting company will encourage volunteer work and will donate food dishes by active users on the site.

As a kickoff, the NGO's campaign will be stamped on the jersey of Bahia, one of the clubs sponsored by Casa de Apostas, from this Thursday (11), against Flamengo, in Maracanã stadium. Activation also seeks to draw attention to volunteering, as such a large action needs generous hearts and hardworking hands to carry out the operation, and can become an ambassador or even a collection point for donations.

In addition, Casa de Apostas will donate three plates of food for each active user on its website. NGO Ação da Cidadania will receive all donations. The counting period will be from November 11th to December 10th of this year.

“We believe in the power of sport and football to be a great vector of information and change in people's behavior. By carrying out actions that address issues of great relevance and social reach, we show that the Casa de Apostas, the first and true 'Brazilian Betting House', cares about society and seeks to help others,” said Hans Schleier, Marketing Director of Casa de Apostas.

“Christmas Without Hunger symbolizes our struggle and hope for better days for the population that has been suffering from lack of food. The expectation is that this will be the biggest campaign in the NGO's history, we hope to raise at least R$ 30 million (US5.5m) to be able to bring food to families across Brazil,” added Rodrigo “Kiko” Afonso, Executive Director of Ação da Cidadania.
