Luiz Felipe Maia wins Global Elite Tought Leaders award from WWL

Lawyer Luiz Felipe Maia has just won his fourth award this year. The Global Elite Thought Leaders recognizes the best lawyers in the world in their fields of expertise, who are nominated by colleagues from around the world and by clients in individual interviews where each one, in addition to nominating the chosen one, must justify the vote. “It is an honor and a joy to receive an award that successfully crowns more than 15 years of work to regulate gaming,” Maia said to GMB after the announcement.

Lawyer Luiz Felipe Maia, a partner at FYMSA, has just received the Global Elite Thought Leaders award from WWL Editorial, part of Law Business Research, in London, as one of the best lawyers in the world, recommended by professional colleagues and clients for his expert advice to individuals, companies and gaming industry associations worldwide.

The award recognizes the contributions of lawyers in their areas of expertise in which they operate globally in the gaming sector and, in this edition, Luiz Felipe Maia has established himself as one of the main authorities in the segment, among 115 professionals also acclaimed by the publication, divided between countries and regions. Maia was recognized as a global leader in the area of gaming in the Americas and shares the award with two other lawyers, one from Las Vegas and the other from Atlantic City, jurisdictions more than inserted in the gaming sector and world references.

“To be recognized with this award is an honor and a joy, as it successfully crowns the work of more than 15 years that I have developed towards the regulation of gaming. In addition, being flanked by two other professionals from traditional gaming jurisdictions, Vegas and Atlantic City, shows recognition of the potential of the Brazilian market,” Maia told GMB.

Being a global elite thought leader at a time when Brazil is discussing gaming regulation demonstrates the growing importance of the gaming industry at a global level. Therefore, Maia comments that "this recognition, the fourth this year, is a stimulus for me to intensify my work in the gaming area."

WWL - Who's Who Legal elects elite global thought leaders through a survey of major market players, lawyers, associations and class councils that pinpoint the truly exceptional professionals and the best in their field.

In the summary of the justifications given to the votes on behalf of the Brazilian lawyer, WWL points out that “sources note that Luiz Felipe Maia, from FYMSA Advogados, is a leading gaming lawyer who understands the legal area and the commercials factors very well.” In the WWL rankings, Maia is named, in the Americas, along with two other lawyers (from Las Vegas and Atlantic City) as a global elite thought leader.
