E-Virada Esportiva takes place during a month in São Paulo recognizing value of eSports in society

The City of São Paulo announced, together with partner organizations, the E-Virada Esportiva, an event focused on electronic sports that will last for a month, starting on November 5th. The competitions will include the games Free Fire, FIFA and Counter Strike: Global Offensive and will have their finals played in person at a mega event at Arena BBL, in São Paulo. Also, there will be panels with experts such as the BBL CMO and eSports professional for over 20 years, Léo de Biase, among others.

Based on the sports project with the same name in which the aim is to promote an uninterrupted weekend of physical activities, E-Virada Esportiva seeks to recognize the value of sports in society. To register, those interested must access the organization's website between November 6th and 15th.

From November 5th to December 5th, several events will take place in 100% digital mode, broadcast on the official BBL channel on Twitch. E-Virada Esportiva will feature the presence of Cauê Moura, youtuber and influencer and Rafifa, who will follow the FIFA 22 competitions, as well as narrator Milla and commentator Binho.

For the co-founder and responsible for strategic partnerships at BBL, Thomas Elias Felsberg, electronic games are no longer just a joke for a long time.

“Today, competitions attract millions of fans and the biggest professionals in electronic sports. What a decade ago was a niche, is now mainstream, with more than 95 million gamers in Brazil. The eSports scenario has evolved and is currently one of the most promising segments on the planet,” he explains.

E-Virada Esportiva will feature a lecture on “Careers in eSports” with the participation of BBL's CMO and esports professional for over 20 years, Léo de Biase. Organizers announced that two other panels will take place. The first one is “eSports as a sport modality” also with a presentation by De Biase and participation of representatives from the Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure, and the second one is “Women in eSports”, with the participation of Flávia ''Eikani'', presenter and eSports specialist and Gaming and Pan Shibuya, pro player, streamer, commentator and professional CS:GO analyst.
