Given the need to reduce human contacts and relationships, the pandemic could accelerate this trend. The Custom Group, one of the most important technical developers in the world, decided in 2007 to create in its internal unit a business unit dedicated to games, lottery, and betting. And the results obtained justified the investment. Supported by a specialized and focused team, this Business Unit targeted 180,000 printers and 60,000 terminal installations worldwide.

In the Italian market, specifically, the company saw an increase of 70% for all solutions related to kiosks, self-service solutions for automation of public services in Retail, GDO, Health and also expects the same in gaming, lottery and betting. These solutions that concern specific applications to support this period of sanitary emergency are ‘lockers’ or ‘safe cabinets’, intended as automated distribution warehouses for all types of products, even if food is being refrigerated and / or heated, kiosks for ‘queue management systems’, ‘click & collect’ systems and several other applications.
In this case, following the new rules of security and social distance, but also new needs, preferences and consumption habits. "All commercial formulas and technology that avoid proximity between people, that offer delivery services, that support and / or eliminate queues and help store sellers, are essential to restart in the best way", comments Alessandro. “At Custom, we always listen deeply to the market, trying to support customers and partners with innovative and easy-to-use solutions.
