Football club Bahia enters eSports with teams from CS: GO, Free Fire and LoL

Affectionately known by fans as Tricolor de Aço, Bahia is yet another Brazilian football club to show up in electronic sports. The club announced on Tuesday (20) through the team's own profile on social networks a partnership with Golden Vulpes and will have competitive teams in games such as Free Fire, VALORANT, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Wild Rift and Pokémon TGC. After the merger, the team was renamed the ‘Esquadrão Golden’ (Golden Squad).

Bahia's arrival in eSports is the result of a partnership with Golden Vulpes. Currently, the organization is already present in some of the announced modalities, such as Free Fire, where it competes for the B Series of the LBFF, and VALORANT, where it participated in the selective for Challengers Brasil.

“Bahia was slow to enter the electronic sports market, as it needed to get to know this new world better and found in the Golden Vulpes the ideal partners to start this journey. After counting on licenses for PES, FIFA and Fortnite games, now it is time to move forward with our official teams and maybe discover new talents in electronic sports,” said Tricolor de Aço's marketing manager, Lênin Franco.

Created in 2019, Golden Vulpes is best known for its Free Fire team, which recently competed in the 1st Stage of the Brazilian Free Fire League (LBFF) in 2021, having even managed to qualify for the second phase of the tournament. Due to the good performance, the organization will play the second division again, this time representing Bahia.
