Betnacional and main three Pernambuco football clubs celebrate landmark sponsorship deal

An event at the Arena de Pernambuco this Thursday (6) morning sealed an almost unprecedented partnership for local football. Betnacional, linked to the British NSX Sports Bet, announced the master sponsorship of Náutico, Santa Cruz and Sport, the three biggest clubs in this Brazilian state. 'We need to embrace our clubs in this difficult phase and make Pernambuco football resurface with strength and representation,' said the director of Betnacional, João Studart.

The agreement represents only the fourth time in history that the same brand has taken on the master sponsorship of the Pernambuco trio simultaneously. The focus on the local market will be complemented by Betnacional's sponsorship of the Pernambuco Championship broadcasts on local TV Globo.

The betting brand was already negotiating with the three clubs independently. Santa Cruz was the first to close an agreement, back in November of last year. Náutico made the deal official this week, after the new board took office, while Sport reached an agreement last Wednesday (5), the day before the official announcement.

Betnacional is yet another betting brand to use club sponsorship to gain market share in Brazil. Currently, most teams have a company in the segment as a sponsor. The agreement with Náutico will run until the end of 2023, while Santa and Sport will have the brand in the noblest space of the jersey until December of this year.

“As a Pernambuco native and passionate about football, I feel happy to be able to contribute in this moment of the resumption of football in Pernambuco. We need to embrace our clubs in this difficult phase and make Pernambuco football resurface with strength and representation. The moment is for reconstruction, for union. And Betnacional arrives to make its contribution in this “hug” in our clubs. Let's return our football to the place where it deserves to be,” said the director of Betnacional, João Studart.

“We are at an initial moment of, I believe, a paradigm shift. I believe that this step is being taken is important and intelligent. Clubs need to understand that they need to have a strong Pernambuco, not just an individual team. Various products are divided among them, so having them collectively strong evidently the external market view is stronger as well. The first steps were taken, started some time ago. We need to structure ourselves better and today is a very good opportunity to show that, the clubs' intention to be together off the field and from there that they unite in other goals. It is necessary to segment this in order to move forward,” said Diógenes Braga, president of Náutico.

“This moment, with the arrival of the sole sponsor, Betnacional, is the kickoff for a major reformulation in the clubs' posture. So this dialogue that started some time ago allows us to exchange ideas, to be united outside the pitch. It's no use one being too far above and the other too far below. It's a paradigm shift. For my part, since I took over on an interim basis, I have been looking for this with Joaquim, Diogenes. We are always meeting at championship events and seeking this constant dialogue,” added Sport's president, Yuri Romão.

“I think there are contributions that can be given within a reciprocity, both in administrative management and in football. This type of partnership is very important and fundamental. So I very much welcome this approach, this unique thought of helping yourself. I believe that we will have positive agendas going forward where we can share our ideas and contributions according to what we want and need,” concluded the president of Santa Cruz, Joaquim Bezerra.
